Dr. J. Terry Alford, DDS, is a nationally sought-after speaker, clinical instructor, and injectables educator with more than 20 years of experience in Botulinum Toxins and dermal fillers. With over 35 years in cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Alford began offering injectable treatments to his patients as early as 2000, placing him among the early adopters of facial aesthetics within dentistry.

Throughout more than two decades in the aesthetics industry, Dr. Alford has collaborated with leading aesthetic technology companies, including Viora and Fotona, contributing to the development of advanced facial rejuvenation protocols and treatment techniques. A strong advocate for combination therapy, his clinical approach integrates injectables with microneedling, PRP, mesotherapy technologies, and energy-based devices to achieve comprehensive, natural-looking results.

Dr. Alford is widely regarded as an expert in facial anatomy for injectables and has led cadaver-based facial anatomy workshops for several years for both the International Academy of Facial Aesthetics (IAFA) and LA-MCA. He authored a detailed 60-page facial anatomy manual used to teach advanced injectable techniques involving Botulinum Toxins, dermal fillers, PDO threads, and ND:YAG and ER:YAG laser technologies.

A passionate educator, Dr. Alford currently serves as a visiting clinical instructor at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry and LECOM School of Dentistry in Bradenton, Florida, where he teaches laser technology and clinical applications. He also educates practitioners nationwide on facial rejuvenation, PRP procedures, facial anatomy, and advanced restorative and cosmetic reconstruction utilizing modern materials and CAD/CAM technologies.
Dr. Alford’s academic background is extensive. He earned degrees in Mathematics, Physics, and Aerodynamics, with additional studies in Chemistry and Biology at Caltech, before graduating with honors from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. He completed a Mini-Residency in Anesthesia and holds Master Certification in Dental Laser Therapy. In 2016, he achieved Mastery Level II certification in DTR Therapy and treatment of orofacial and TMD pain.

Dr. Alford is a member of numerous professional organizations and was named “America’s Top Dentist” for six consecutive years (2011–2016) in Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry by the Consumers’ Research Council of America.
